ISSUES
Housing Affordability & Homelessness
I am proud to be a lifelong Oxnard resident, but I also know it has become increasingly difficult for hard-working families to afford to live here. Having grown up with multiple families living under one roof, I know all too well the challenges families face to make ends meet in our community. I believe it is essential that families who work here be able to call our community home. That’s why I will advocate for affordable and high-quality housing for our residents and partner with public and private sector leaders to enhance services and housing for our unhoused residents while also striving to maintain safe and clean neighborhoods for our families.

Youth & Education
I’m the proud and grateful product of our local schools whose influence has shaped my career. My educational and life experience was shaped by our local schools, including Driffill Elementary, Haydock Intermediate (now Manuel Lopez Academy of the Arts), and Oxnard High, as well as through my involvement in personal development programs like the Ventura County Office of Education’s Migrant Education Program, Upward Bound, and Future Leaders of America. Today, I am proud to work at Oxnard College where I help students attain their educational and career goals. These experiences have informed my passion for providing high-quality, affordable education to our students and supporting our educators. For me, this work is personal. I believe our ability to educate and train our students is the key to improving the quality of life in our community.
Supporting
Working People
I know firsthand the impact working families have on our community. Growing up, I worked with my family in the fields and at farmers’ markets selling what we grew. My parents pursued the American dream and dedicated their lives to building our family businesses, first by running a bakery and later when they started a flower business to provide my brothers and me with a better life. We worked hard to make our businesses flourish through hardship and recession. From an early age, I learned to appreciate the men and women whose hands, backs, and minds drive our local economy. That’s why I will work to support good-paying local jobs, workforce training, affordable and quality education, and workers’ rights. I am eager to advocate for you, the members of my community, and to work alongside you as your councilmember.

Safety & Health
Safety is my top priority here in Oxnard—without it, little else matters. That’s why I’ve been proud to serve on the Oxnard Police Chief’s Advisory Council. From fire safety to public health and keeping our streets safe, I support our frontline public safety officials who serve and protect our community from natural disasters, health crises, and crime. I also appreciate our police department’s commitment to fostering community policing through training in crisis intervention, de-escalation tactics, and implicit bias training. I’m proud to have advocated for wellness programs for our officers who deal with complex and difficult situations every single day; I believe we should equip them with the resources needed to protect our community. Together, we can keep Oxnard safe, healthy, and respectful of our diverse communities.
Economic Growth
I know what it means to build economic growth for my family and in our community. My family built and ran small businesses that my brothers and I worked to support while growing up. I see that same drive and entrepreneurship throughout our community and am eager to support their efforts as your councilmember. That’s why I am passionate about supporting local businesses, incentivizing good-paying jobs, and offering workforce training. Let’s never forget that Oxnard’s workers are the backbone of Ventura County - so let’s work together to support robust economic growth and to respect the workers making it happen.
